The Arbor School

Opened in 2018, the Arbor School provides a high standard of education based on the National Curriculum for England, and is an international, ecological school for FS1 through to Year 9, that puts sustainability at the centre of every student’s journey.

Enriched with a compassionate, ethical outlook focused on eco-literacy and sustainability, the educational vision of Arbor is embedded within the curriculum and reflected in every lesson and task. Through project-based and experiential learning, children plan, collaborate, reflect and make meaningful changes to the world around them in a fully inclusive and supportive environment.

The school is a pioneer in sustainability and resiliency through highly efficient operations, community-wide campaigns and strategic initiatives. Committed to developing into an ever-more nature loving, ecoliterate and sustainable community, the school proudly offers 100 percent organic, scratch-cooked meals from its low-waste kitchen; a 100% sustainable, organic, and fair-trade uniform; and an upper floor renovation project, inspired by nature, that will be the heart of its secondary experience.

The Arbor School benefits from specialist teachers in residence, who inspire the whole school community to think and act differently, facilitating their engagement with environmental projects both locally and globally. These specialists currently include and Environmental Education Advisor who supports the school’s development of ecological and sustainability-oriented activities within the school’s Enrichment Programme, and a Michelin trained Chef who spearheads our “farm-to-fork” programme.

In support of this vision, the school boasts top-class facilities, using a bespoke biodome and gardens as key learning spaces to engage children in a deeper understanding of their ecology and environment.
